The dramaturgical material uses the plot structure of Chekhov's first play "Ivanov", but incorporates fragments and characters from "The Cherry Garden" and "The Seagull". The idea is to make Chekhov's famous thesis "Living is the greatest enemy of Life" even more explicit. To subordinate your living to satisfying the passion for accumulating a fortune which will provide you with a carefree experience and doing-nothing, is indeed the greatest enemy of those committed to the great idea of Life. That is: the idea of dedicating oneself to the preservation and improvement of God's miracle - Life here on Earth. Chekhov's warning is more valid today than ever. In today's LIFESTYLE which is being promoted everywhere, the young generation ought to sense the danger to the spiritual man, hidden in the advertised fashionable, materialistic living.
