In post-Brexit England, international students are not welcome. Acting students especially. They have worked hard for decades to erase their identities in order to fit an Anglocentric industry. Now it is a matter of survival. Only Miss Brexit will be allowed to remain in the UK and pursue the Anglo-American dream.” What does it take to become Miss Brexit? In a globalized world where musical theater franchises and Netflix have colonized the world of entertainment, artists around the world still fight to be seen. They leave their countries, their families, their cultures… for the sake of their passion. In pursuing theater studies in Anglo-speaking countries, these students, who come rich in experiences, slowly mitigate their identities to become an Anglo-version of themselves. In this performance we will meet real people with unique stories. Who will be capable of completely erasing their identity and talk like a Brit, think like a Brit, live like a Brit? This satire will explore the struggles of the migrant and reveal some of the effects of cultural assimilation.
